EDITORIAL: The Protest Generation’s Last Hurrah?
The 'No Kings' protest was a well-funded and organized astroturf party for old socialist hippies and violent ANTIFA youth.
Democrats are trying to win back voters. Or, should it be said, they are trying to buy back voters. The larger than life 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, is who their deranged invectives are directed at every day. Not willing to discuss issues, they prefer to target the one man who has exposed their nefarious approaches to government. The “No-Kings” demonstrations are funded by long-standing professional political groups like the George Soros endowed Indivisible, which was the original Resistance movement established in 2016, a month after Trump's first victory. Others include, the Democrat Party and their big candidate PACS like Friends of Bernie Sanders.
Randi Weingarten and the American Federation of Teachers have taken the dues of their members and contributed to the No Kings astroturf movement alongside the National Action Network, and, another 193 PACS and non-profits with over $2.1 billion in annual revenues. The founder of the Pearl Project, Asra Nomani, has an in-depth piece on the organizations involved at Fox News.
In March, Nomani wrote extensively on the “Tesla Takedown” protests for the Northern Virginia publication, The Fairfax Times. Fairfax is a county of over 1 million residents located 15 miles outside of Washington, DC. The protest was coordinated by Indivisible leaders. On X, Nomani remarked how many of those organizations are also behind “No Kings.” In all, about 267 additional sources of funding.

Then there is the billionaire heiress, Christy Walton, of the Walmart fortunes. Walton took full-page ads out in newspapers as large as the New York Times to the tiny Indian River Press Journal. No doubt, she contracted the whole USA Today Network via the Gannett news conglomerate. Online, the Gannett-owned daily, TC Palm, wrote emotionally spun stories building up to the gatherings in Florida. On the Treasure Coast, the TC Palm ran 13 articles on the protests in 4 days. Over 10 of them were published in the last 48 hours. If even possible, has Walton’s money further slanted the reporting at USA Today?
At one point during the Vero Beach protest, a Walmart tractor trailer turned west from 58th Ave onto State Road 60, blaring its horn in agreement as it passed the stretched out gang of Democrats.
The cherry on top of the media’s vulgar propaganda cake was CBS News posting on X where to buy “No-Kings” merchandise. Get your t-shirts and hats on Amazon and Temu!
Yet, at the end of the day, the old baby-boomer hippies of the Democrat Party hardly inspired a new generation of voters to turn out alongside them. Well, perhaps they did on the West Coast where the usual rent-a-mob, ANTIFA, attacked government buildings in Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles. In Salt Lake City, Utah, 24-year-old, Arturo Gamboa, who affiliated himself on social media with ANTIFA/BLM, brought an AR-15 to the No Kings protest. He took a position behind a wall and opened fire, killing a 39-year-old marcher.
In Indian River, of the roughly 2000 in attendance, maybe 100 were under the age of 30. Nothing demonstrated the majority of those in attendance at various protests in the country more clearly then this video on X of participants in Arizona heading out to the streets:
Protestors prefer not to discuss issues when challenged.
For the past few demonstrations by the Democrats of Indian River, The Sunshine Journal has gone to interview participants. Back in February, Democrats were protesting against making the government more efficient.
In April, The Sunshine Journal went to the Hands-Off protest, only to be followed by one of the Democrats of Indian River leadership who told protesters not to grant interviews.
At this sidewalk demonstration, our reporter was wearing a tee-shirt that read, “Make America Constitutional Again.” Demonstrators would acknowledge the “cool shirt,” which sparked up conversations. When our reporter mentioned that President Trump won the election with 77 million votes, they would stop talking. Another set of people pointed out the issue of “due process” for illegal aliens. None realized that the Maryland Dad, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, is currently in Tennessee court on charges of being a gang member engaged in human trafficking operations. Brian Entin of News Nation revealed on X that the government has a witness ready to testify that Garcia was making $100,000 annually, moving weapons and humans throughout the USA.
There was a caravan of Trump supporters who drove down SR 60 with messages wishing the Army and President Trump a Happy Birthday. It was about 40 cars long. Trump flags flew from the open windows. Yet, most Trump supporters were probably out enjoying America, rather than being bothered with such frivolous claims that are easily debunked by history and general fact.

More odd revisions of history and fact overheard at the No Kings protest.
Standing on the corner, waiting to cross SR 60, our reporter could overhear a conversation among some Democrats about Trump’s father being a KKK member. In their mind, that’s who taught Trump to be a racist. The fabricated account of revisionists stems from a May 27, 1927, Memorial Day Parade incident in Queens, NY, involving the KKK. The white-hooded group’s participation permit was being slow-walked by NYC Mayor, Jimmy Walker. According to a 2017 Queens Gazette article, the KKK decided to force their way into the largest Memorial Day parade in the nation. Their disruptive behavior ultimately caused a massive brawl with police and town residents. As an observer of the festivities turned to violence, President Trump’s father was caught up in it, and ultimately arrested with 6 others. He was the only one released with charges fully dropped. The news report confirms, Fred Trump was never a member of the KKK. Read the Queens Gazette account here.
At the time, the KKK notoriously hated the very popular Governor of New York, Al Smith, a Catholic who, in 1924, had sought the Democrat's presidential nomination. At the 1924 Democrat convention, there was a major political fight versus the KKK wing of the party. Over 100 floor votes were taken concerning Smith’s nomination. In the end, the KKK prevented the nomination of Smith. However, in 1928, the Governor of New York, without bending to the KKK’s demands, received the nomination from the Democrats. His whistle-stop presidential campaign throughout the South was met with burning crosses. Without southern participation, Smith lost the general election to Herbert Hoover.
In 2024, at the Al Smith dinner which Kamala Harris skipped, then candidate Trump recalled that as a son, his father brought him to the annual charity event. His father was inspired by Al Smith. Trump also described the importance of charity to his father. Founded in 1945, the Al Smith Foundation will celebrate its 80th anniversary. A proper reading of history or the fact that “King Trump” allowed the protest does not matter to today’s remaining Democrats.
The violence against political reason continues
While the “No Kings” protesters were on the streets, a former person appointed by Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz, became the subject of a statewide manhunt for the assassination of MN state Democrat representative, Melissa Hortman, and her husband, Mark. The suspected gunman, Vance Boelter, also went to the home of state Senator, John Hoffman, where he shot and wounded him and his wife too. On May 31st, in a speech to the South Carolina Democrat Convention, Gov. Walz called on Democrats to “get meaner” in fighting republicans and Trump, “the wannabe dictator.”
The investigators believe the assassination and attempted murder of Hortman and Hoffman were politically motivated after they both joined state republicans to remove healthcare for illegal aliens to get the state budget passed. Boelter’s vehicle had 'No Kings' signs on the seats, causing the state to warn the public. He was apprehended Sunday evening. In 1865, Abraham Lincoln was also shot too by an unhinged gunman for not doing what the Democrats wanted.
The cringy and deranged political posturing of a party, whose approval rating has fallen to a low of 19%, is often a comical and a crass display of mental delusion. During the L.A. protest violence against I.C.E. last week, pollster, Rasmussen, saw Trump’s approval rating rise 3 points, to 54%. On Sunday evening, the President thanked the “No Kings” protesters for assuring he was still President.
Saturday, most of America celebrated the 250th anniversary of the Army, Flag Day and President Trump’s birthday. On the other hand, what's left of the Democrats celebrated 160 years of denial.
