ON THE SCENE VIDEO: Democrats of Indian River Accuse The Sunshine Journal of Lying! In Brevard, More of the Same
And other claims, even some made by a Republican! Next protest April 19!
It was just another day of shouting in the sunshine at the Hands Off protest organized nationwide by the Democrat Party and many of its affiliated groups, chief among them the online organizations, Fifty Fifty One and the George Soros funded, Indivisible. In partnership with Joann Binford of Binford Chronicles, The Sunshine Journal set about interviewing various protestors.
However, as our roving reporters roamed about, it became apparently obvious that a leader of the Democrats of Indian River was not going to allow those on the picket line to speak freely. The leader would not name herself as she interrupted a protestor, Dave Correll, who was making his views heard. She inquired, “Excuse me, where are you from?”
After asking for the reporter’s ‘philosophy,’ The Sunshine Journal handed the woman a business card. She responded, “This is The Sunshine Journal. Do not talk to him! They’re nothing but lies!”
As the camera turned to the woman, she repeated, “You’re nothing but lies!”
The Sunshine Journal reporter always introduced himself by handing a business card to persons in the protest line. He asked the unidentified woman holding his card, “What is your name, ma’am?”
“I’m not giving you my name," she replied. Turning to the protestors nearby, she added, “But, do not talk to him!”
Ultimately, the unnamed lady followed us around. Enclosed is the video.
It has become apparent that Democrats of Indian River are in the midst of waging a no-holds-barred propaganda war. They have joined a national coordinated effort by their party. Reasonable debate, conversation and general decorum are not always afforded to those who may see things differently or ask questions. Their Facebook post said, "Tell Trump & Musk to keep their HANDS OFF our Medicaid, Medicare, social security, our wallets, our jobs, our bodies, democracy, personal data, public land, veteran services, cancer research, NATO, immigrants, consumer protections, clean energy, schools, free speech, trans healthcare and clean air."
The list is exhausting. The demonstrations are an overall political marketing strategy. The next nationwide "Hands Off" protest is scheduled for Saturday, April 19th. Could this go on every two weeks for the next four years?
Of course, the unknown reality of such tactics is the effect on the public. Nationwide, democrats are polling in the low 20s, and something must be done to draw a stark contrast. Therefore, like they did in the run-up to the 2020 election, protest the Orange Man.
The Sunshine Journal did manage to get an interview with a protestor before the Democrats of Indian River demanded their cultish followers not speak to reporters. A A self-proclaimed republican, Jim Pickering, granted time on camera. One of his major complaints was the Trump administration’s violation of a federal district court order concerning the deportation of illegal aliens. Pickering commented, “I’m a republican, but I am dismayed by seeing the dismantling of our democracy” … “It’s being dismantled by those who are exceeding their authority. We have an executive branch that is overstepping the bounds of what they should be doing.”
Our reporters asked him in what manner had the executive branch overreached. He replied, “Well, in disobeying federal judges.”
When Pickering was pressed about what is the proper jurisdiction of federal district judges, he was certain it was the whole USA and the President was to be subjected to them. He asked the reporter, “Are you a frickin’ moron?” adding, “Open your eyes and see what’s happening.”
It is all in the enclosed unedited interview segment.
Three days later, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that Washington, DC Federal District Judge, James Boasberg’s ruling on the Tren de Aragua deportation be “vacated.” The Court cited that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed the case in the wrong jurisdiction. The ACLU can still file a complaint in the proper jurisdiction, the Southern District of Texas.
North to Brevard.
On Thursday, an online push broke-out by democrats in Brevard who were organizing around the Satellite Beach English teacher, Melissa Calhoun, not being renewed by Brevard County Public Schools (BCPS). Calhoun’s contract was not renewed because of a complaint filed by a parent that claimed Calhoun was using their child’s “preferred name” for their preferred gender identity. In the subsequent investigation, BCPS confirmed that Calhoun knowingly violated the parental right’s law. She admitted she did not inform the student’s parents which is also a violation of school policy.
In response, students had scheduled a “Walk Out” protest in the middle of the school day. That was cancelled when school officials said students would receive a 10-day suspension if they participated. The Walk Out was rescheduled to after school at 3:00 pm on the corner of Jackson Ave and A1A. The first 45 minutes were 12 adults and two Orlando news media, Channel 2, WESH, and by helicopter, Channel 6, WKMG. There was a brief protest of about 100 students at the flagpole on school property supporting Calhoun.

Out on the corner, though, it was more Democrat activism led by Paul Lyal, a self-described digital creator, according to his social media on TikTok and Facebook. Championing himself as “PRO-DEMOCRACY,” Lyal only makes content about Democrat party activities, policies and representatives. He made a video about Corey Booker’s filibuster. He opened his interview by saying, “In Brevard, we have had a huge movement growing here, like we just had 1300 people at a protest the other day for the ‘Hands Off National Day of Protest.’”
He agreed when it was mentioned it was organized by the Democrat Party. Concerning the protest over Calhoun, it appeared to be more of an online response sprinkling over lightly on to a street corner. “We are here today because that [Parental Rights] law is unconstitutional,” he added. After discussing Calhoun’s case, The Sunshine Journal asked, “So, the parent filed a complaint against the teacher, is that what you are saying?”

“Correct.” said Lyal. The Sunshine Journal followed up, “So, the parent notified BCPS about her parental rights regarding her 17-year-old minor child. So, what rights are you standing for in that regard?”
Lyal said, “We are standing here for that unconstitutional law that was passed. The law is unconstitutional. It is not illegal to say things.”
Online, many refer to the minor's preferred name as her "nickname." Advocates proposed that all athletic coaches will soon be fired for using them with students they coach. They ignore parental rights. Pressing Lyal, the reporter questioned, “It is ‘not illegal to say things?’”
“Yes.” said Lyal adding, “I am done with this interview.”
Censorship is alive and well in Brevard too. Lyal proceeded to inform everyone on the protest line to not talk to The Sunshine Journal. He would later accuse The Sunshine Journal of being bought and paid for by Trump. The Sunshine Journal is an independent news source.
Isn't it sad to see how uninformed people are? They are lead astray from soundbites and never do the research to learn the truth. I'm sorry to see that Indian River County is in the mix, but there's no reason to think it wouldn't be. Keep doing what you're doing - I, for one, don't have the patience to interact with numbskulls.
Thank you for sharing this article and videos/pictures with proof of it! Keep showing the community the truth! Great work!
