I believe you are saying humans need a change of heart. We are a republic founded on laws of nature (God), which is where our principles come from - IMO. Unfortunately many twist principles, the law, and truth to suit self interests. We have very few officials (elected or bureaucrats) that "serve" the people.
I believe we need responsible and humble officials to get us back to what our founders left us. A nation of people serving with integrity, honor, and self sacrifice.
The laws of Singapore, Malaysia, et al. are to be taken with a grain of salt, not as role models, IMO. The US is a mixed bag of godly principles - not only a land of opportunity. Principles like mercy triumphing as well as if not over judgment, a place where second chances are valued as much as justice. I’ve been thinking the country is founded on the belief that we need to wrestle with ourselves and the values that proceed from the heart of the Father. Then after that process the governance that comes of that will hopefully be an approximation of the best way. Like a binary search algorithm. Sadly, manipulative and/or deceived people use the process for their own self interest instead of seeking the betterment of society.
Well said. What is morally reprehensible about current US policy is the fact that the current administration has a completely lawless application of immigration law. They refuse to enforce it and do not have any interest in the idea of defined citizenship. Other countries and their harsh policies may demonstrate strict border and citizenship that the nature of our citizenship would not normally agree. Yet, I think the comparison is made because in the current crisis, people just want our basic laws followed and respected.
Thank you Karen for speaking truth to the darkness and chaos. After all, that is the plan of the radical left! We must mobilize as fellow Americans to take back our beloved country before it is too late. May God grant us the wisdom, guidance and courage to do whatever is necessary to restore civility and liberty for our children and grandchildren.

Fair enough. I’m just concerned that the pendulum has swung too far before it’s even begun swinging.
