Breaking: Vice Mayor, Linda Moore, Hosts Drag Queen Show For “All Ages” at Kilted Mermaid
On Sunday, Kilted Mermaid had adult live performances with children in attendance. Citizen files complaint with multiple agencies.
On Sunday, the local pub, Kilted Mermaid, advertised and held an “all ages” Pride celebration featuring a Drag Show attended by minor children. The event was titled “Pride Tea Dance” and featured two performances by Drag Queens, Serenity Jade Paris and Mystree Hugga. Reels posted by the Kilted Mermaid across social media show the drag queens performing with children present in the bar. In Florida, a law was passed in 2023 to protect children. It defined a drag queen show as “adult live performance” and no one under 18 is permitted. As owner of the Kilted Mermaid, Vice Mayor Moore could be subject to a $5,000 fine and a suspension of the bar’s liquor license.
VIDEO: Drag performer, Mystree Hugga, incidentally moons a child across the stage and turns to her to say “hello.” Hugga would later remove the dress and perform a lewd dance throughout the bar collecting money along the way.
On Sunday evening, local Moms for Liberty chapter chair, Jennifer Pippin, posted the video and picture stills from it showing the drag queen, Mystree Hugga approaching a little girl and dancing before her. Another picture shows a child sitting on the shoulders of an adult, looking bewildered by the soft porn culture presented at the Kilted Mermaid. Pippin is publicly calling for Vice Mayor, Linda Moore, who is the proprietor of the Kilted Mermaid, to resign from City Council. Complaints have been filed with the Vero Beach City Police, the Florida Attorney General’s Office, as well as the Florida Department of Hotel and Restaurants and appropriate licensing boards.
This incident isn’t the first time Vice Mayor Moore has been under scrutiny for how she uses the Kilted Mermaid. Last year, a health department investigation was launched when Vice Mayor Moore asked the public to bring “used sex toys (preferably dildos)” to the establishment for an art project. The obvious health hazards were pointed out in a 2024 complaint, which led to two surprise inspections of the restaurant and bar.

Following that incident, school board member, Dr. Gene Posca called for the resignation of Vice Mayor Moore. Dr. Posca is board certified in internal medicine with degrees in Molecular Biology, Bio-Chemistry and Mathematics with a Doctorate of Medicine. At the time, he said, “She specifically requested used ones which would most likely be covered with things like E. coli, klebsiella, proteus and plenty of other dangerous bacteria that you can’t have in a restaurant,” adding, “To make such a public request like that, you really have to operate under a delusional thought process.”

Vice Mayor Moore is currently serving in her second term. In March, she accused, without any evidence or basis of fact, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) of blatant racism over the agency assisting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She claimed ICE agents were riding in IRCSO squad cars and targeting work trucks with brown people in them. The City Council remained silent on the disparagement of law enforcement partners.

At the March 11th City Council meeting, councilman, John Carroll, speculated about costs and manpower needed to implement VBPD Chief, David Currey’s recommendation to assist US Customs Immigration and Enforcement (ICE) with enforcement policy. Chief Currey answered funding concerns by sharing…
A petition has been started online to email the City Council. It remains to be seen how the City Council will respond, if they do at all.

Moore’s an elected. Recall may be the way to go. City voters are ignorant or uninformed. Violations should have penalties, hopefully. Moore is a cancer on IRC culture. Crass, crude, low class.
Serving her second term? VB voters need to rethink who they are putting in office. Persons who act as Moore has is literally voting for criminal activity to flourish and undermining what law enforcement is obligated to enforce. Anyone who welcomes, as she appears to do, illegal aliens and pornography in a community is guilty by association. VB city council needs to take action and remove her.
